Having a clear idea of sales forecasts are very important to efficient and profitable business management. Companies want to be able to check their forecasts as often and as accurately as possible, enabling them to react appropriately and manage and fulfil the specific demands of their customers.

Why should a company implement a dedicated inventory management system?

We have seen it over and over again. Companies with a distribution requirement implement an enterprise-wide business management system and understandably try and fit as much of their business into the capabilities of the ERP. In most areas, this works well, but not so much when it comes to achieving the inventory holy grail of minimal stock with high availability.
