AGR receives continued funding from the Icelandic Centre for Research

The Technology Development fund at the Icelandic Centre for Research recently agreed to prolong funding to AGR for the software development project Nostradamus by the annual amount of GBP 40.000,-. Initiated in 2008, the project is in its second and final year of development. „Our aim is to increase companies´ planning capabilities by increasing collaboration between purchasing and sales departments, increase planning reliability and efficiency.“ says Haukur Hannesson, CEO of AGR.

The objective is to utilise the practical knowhow that AGR and their collaborators have achieved during the last years to develop an expert system for creating sales forecasts and execute collaborative planning strategies.  „There is a limited selection of systems available for this purpose and we believe that a system based on the same methodology as the AGR Inventory Optimiser would be a revolutionary aid for most companies in wholesale, retail and production industries.“ says Hlynur Stefánsson project manager.
