Kjell & Co Elektronik Improves Supply Chain Planning with AGR

Kjell & Company is a leading Nordic retailer specializing in electronics accessories and solutions. With 117 stores in Sweden and 31 in Norway, the company operates a complex retail supply chain serving both physical stores and online customers.

The Challenge

Like many growing retailers, Kjell & Company needed a more structured way to manage demand and purchasing decisions across its expanding network.

1

Multiple sources of demand

Demand signals came from multiple sources, making it difficult to consolidate information and confidently translate it into supplier orders.

2

Time consuming ordering

Supplier orders were reviewed and placed throughout the week, often requiring planners to process orders daily while coordinating with other teams working in the ERP system.

3

Complex compaing planning

Changes made in the ERP system, such as pricing adjustments, could unintentionally disrupt distribution planning, requiring additional checks and adjustments from the supply chain team.

4

Inefficient workflows

The planning team needed a more efficient workflow that would allow them to review demand, validate order suggestions, and manage purchasing decisions with greater control.

The result

With AGR, Kjell & Company has gained greater structure, visibility, and flexibility in managing its supply chain operations.

By organizing supplier orders into scheduled order days, the planning team can review demand more efficiently and reduce the pressure of daily ordering.

AGR brings together demand signals from multiple channels into one planning environment, helping planners validate demand and make more informed purchasing decisions.

The team can easily adjust parameters, review forecasts visually, and refine planning decisions as the business evolves.

Demand planners can work closely with colleagues responsible for store distribution, ensuring supplier purchasing and store allocation remain aligned.

Kjell

“When I started, we had orders every day. Now we place them on Mondays and Tuesdays, which gives us more time during the rest of the week to confirm orders with suppliers.”

Kjell's journey

Kjell & Company is a leading Nordic retailer specializing in electronics accessories and solutions. With 113 stores in Sweden and around 31 in Norway, the company operates a complex retail supply chain serving both physical stores and online customers.

Products are supplied through a central warehouse before being distributed across the store network. Managing inventory across multiple demand channels—including stores, e-commerce, B2B customers, and regional distribution—requires strong coordination between purchasing, forecasting, and store distribution.

Emelie Cedergren, Demand Planner at Kjell & Company, works with the supply chain team to manage supplier purchasing and demand planning across the organization.

Today, AGR plays a key role in helping the team consolidate demand, generate order suggestions, and manage supplier orders more efficiently.

“We have demand from stores, online sales, B2B customers, and other markets. All of those demands are included in the order suggestions we get from AGR.”

Success with AGR

How Kjell uses AGR

AGR is now central to Kjell’s purchasing and demand planning processes.

The system consolidates demand signals from across the organization—including retail stores, e-commerce, B2B customers, and campaign activity—and generates supplier order suggestions. The planning team reviews and validates these suggestions before confirming orders and sending them to the ERP system.

Using AGR, the team has also introduced a more structured ordering schedule. Supplier orders are now concentrated on specific days early in the week, allowing planners to focus their time on reviewing demand and validating purchasing decisions.

“When I started, we had orders every day. Now we place them on Mondays and Tuesdays, which gives us more time during the rest of the week to confirm orders with suppliers.”

AGR also provides strong visibility into demand patterns through its visual planning views. The team regularly uses item and demand views to review sales trends and manage distribution planning.

“I really like how visual it is. It’s easy for the eye and flexible for us to work in.”

Kjell is also expanding its use of AGR to improve campaign planning. A new workflow will allow campaign demand to be created directly within AGR, giving the team greater control over distribution planning and reducing the need for adjustments in the ERP system.
