Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of inventory planning, but its greatest value comes from helping planners make better decisions, not making those decisions for them.
That philosophy is reflected in two new AI features introduced in AGR’s June release: AI-Generated Sales History and Item Analyzer. Both features are currently available in beta and are designed to reduce manual analysis while keeping users firmly in control of their planning decisions.
Smarter Forecasting for New Products
Launching a new product has always presented a forecasting challenge. Without historical sales data, planners often have little information to build an accurate demand forecast.
AI-Generated Sales History addresses this by analysing similar products already within a company’s assortment to create an intelligent sales baseline. Rather than starting from zero, planners receive a realistic foundation that can be refined using their own market knowledge and business expertise. The feature can be enabled for individual items or in bulk through Forecast Settings.
AI That Explains What’s Happening
The new Item Analyzer helps planners understand an item’s current situation in seconds.
Using AI, it reviews inventory data and generates an easy-to-read summary covering stock levels, demand trends, inventory risks, and suggested areas for investigation. Instead of searching through multiple reports, planners receive a concise overview that highlights the information most likely to require attention. Analyses are generated on demand and can be refreshed whenever new data becomes available.

Supporting Better Decisions, Not Replacing Them
These new capabilities reflect AGR’s broader approach to artificial intelligence.
Rather than replacing human judgement, AI is being embedded throughout the platform to automate repetitive analysis, surface meaningful insights, and help planners spend more time making informed decisions. The goal is greater transparency, faster workflows, and better inventory outcomes while ensuring users remain in control of every purchasing and forecasting decision.
Both AI-Generated Sales History and Item Analyzer are currently available as beta features. Customers interested in participating can contact their Customer Success Manager to learn more about early access.
